Australia should not be involved in anything Trump (and Netanyahu and Orban) is associated with- and we should pull out of AUKUS and ask for a refund!

Surely ‘Peace Board’ is almost worthy of oxymoron status given the corrupt and war criminal enterprise behind it. As for Marles with his ‘Shrine-to-America’ collection adorning his office, it appears beyond fawning after anything American, he isn’t the sharpest tool in the box.

"Peace Board" - an unwitting Orwell-esque term from Trump.

Bring your own billion dollars and munitions of course and we will have peace on US terms.

What an utter disgrace that a so called Labor govt. even considers joining this posse of rapacious criminals.

What would Gough say ???? ... or Curtin, or Chifley?

...and why bother with Australia Day? Depite all the egalitarian 'fair go' twaddle we practice nothing better than genocidal colonialism - shallow rank hypocracy on steroids.

Take no notice of what our politicians say - judge them on what they do.

How could Albanese and Marles be so dumb , and so willing to betray this multicultural nation , as to even consider accepting this billion dollar invitation from Trump ?? What have they been threatened with if they decline the offer ?

What have they personally been offered if they dare to accept it ? Do they hold Australians , and Humanity in general in such contempt ? Are they so governed by America and Israel that the future of this nation means nothing to them ?

( “Come into my parlour “, said the spider to the fly .) Is it not humiliating enough that they have invited the Zionist President

of Israel to visit this country as their “honoured guest” ??

Where does the billions dollar entry fee go, who would be in charge of those billions? If Drumpf is head of the board does this mean he gets the billions? Does joining this ^board^ put all world leaders that join under Drumpf's thumb? Why does a Gaza rebuilding board need all world leaders as members, unless the real plan is to get nothing done while everyone puts in the twopence worth?

Anyone who joins this crap idea is not worthy of being any country's leader.

An "invitation" or a threat?

Elizabeth Chandler's avatar

Or one of those offers “it would be most unwise to decline “? 🤢🤢🤢

Absolutely. It is a board of occupation. If they say yes, the Labor party is buggered.

But you just know they will say YES!!

I have an awful feeling that Albo and Marles will cave. They seem to lack the insight as to what's happening in Trump America. Albo lacks anything like the leadership skills that being PM requires...

We have to find some other language. Even putting Board of Peace in inverted commas, or Ceasefire in inverted commas doesn't cut it. It's the takeover of Gaza, the subjugation of the sovereign state of Palestine. (Didnt we just advocate the recognition of the Palestinian state?)

For Albanese/Marles to even consider joining this board of thieves, standover men, greedy billionaires is absolute insanity. But now that Labor is cosying up to the Opposition over the hate speech legislation, we have not even a centre-right Australian federal government, we simply have a right-wing government falling over itself to cosy up to Trump. Disgusted!

Insufferable and unforgivable. 😡😡😡😡

Finally…an intelligent, well argued assessment of Trump’s latest ‘best thing the world has ever been gifted’ shtick.

I cannot, nay, will not, countenance the possibility that Labor’s leadership are seriously considering this undisguised shake down. Then again, Albanese seems more than happy to blather on about his ‘good relationship’ with Trump. No words for Marles’ sycophancy.

The PM attempting to stay nimble as he watches Trump ‘withdraw another seat’ and joins ‘traditional US allies scramble for a place to rest’.

Thanks Joel - a great read.

surely they would not be stupid enough to join this attempted competitor to the UN…

Justice for g3n0c1d3d Palestinians has nothing to do with a board of hostile billionaire and war criminal shamholders and genocupiers getting given the legal right to continue their war crimes, and profit from it. Bring on the replacement justice system, this one's complicit with war crimes.

Excellent article as always. It really seems like our government is increasingly operating from a place of fear, but ffs how much further can we follow the US into this nightmare future?
