The bile from the shock jocks and the right wing media is to be expected, but particular contempt for ‘journalists’ like Zelic and Bongiorno who hide behind their ‘respectability’ labels to spout the same harmful nonsense.
They claim to be truth seekers when Zelic’s greatest claim to fame is calling Adelaide a ‘shithole’ in her ‘tell it like it is’ persona. Bongiorno is part of the furniture in Canberra and a scribe for the powerful with his ‘scoops’. Both are very comfortable within the right wing ecosystem and show their ‘sensibility’ by targeting the trans community, even if means indulging fake news. They love sticking it to a community that has no power.
Thanks Joel. I would have expected better from Bongiorno. Where is the evidence Khelif is "trans"? The judgement on parade is truly shocking. I expect crap like this from the Rowan Deans of the world, and it really is such an utter non-issue. But it is important, because people are being harmed needlessly. I hope Khelif is still in the competition.
The saddest part is that if you actually know anything about boxing, Khelif won her fights by being quicker, more technical and aggressive rather than through any kind of advantage of size or power. If you've followed her career, what you can actually see (if you cared to look), is improvement down to good, old fashioned hard work and dedication to her sport.
For crying out loud, she got most points through her jab and counters, which is down to amazing footwork and timing, nothing to do with strength or size.
Can I introduce myself by saying I believe in climate change, support Palestine and am a socialist. Im sure you’re the same…however we differ on one major point…you’re a biological make and I’m a biological female!
