Thanks Joel brilliant article. Your analysis is 100% correct. It’s so important and encouraging to be able to read good analysis and someone who takes the time to delve into what is happening and explain it coherently.

Any chance you could enlighten Jo Dyer on the Ukraine and Russian conflict? The lack of knowledge or understanding is badly letting down The Sunday Shot. A show I value highly and that we desperately need. The spreading of misinformation is really not good. If commentators don’t have a good grasp of geo politics, be quiet and get someone in who does.

Yeah totally agree. Can hear Joel back a mile away from what he really thinks when the war in Ukraine is mentioned.

Surgically argued, with fully aligned evidence and quotes, catefully constructing an (in my reading anyway) entirely-new, fascinating and compelling thesis.

Thanks Dean, I’ve been juggling this one around for nearly a month. It’s tough to write these ones sometimes.

Nice work Joel. I confess to being weary of reading about the latest death throes of the empire, but this was a good article. I never thought we’d see the Yankee right splinter over whether or not to support a genocide.

Excellent article, spot on analysis. This issue is a very clear litmus test as to which journalists are/are not on the reservation.

Robert shillman also pulled his astronomical funding from TPUSA just one week before kirk was murdered, over his (and Ackman's) anger at kirk's turn away from zionist lobbying. Grayzone did a good piece on it if you haven't seen it already.

Vance also has to contend with religious fault lines opening up.

Christian Nationalism may be a powerful coalition of right wing evangelicals and Catholics but their bonds have yet to be truly tested.

Vance is very happy to use the state's powers to enforce morality, the (pre-Vatican II) Catholic Church's of course. None of that accords with evangelicals' notions of unmediated faith and primacy of the individual. Oil and water trying to mix. Could get messy.

I thought it anything but that. Sharp, concise, well argued, totally coherent. Well done mate. Do you have a proofreader? Some of your earlier ambiguous sentence construction seems to have disappeared. Or are you just being supermeticulous these days?

Thanks, I have been cleaning up the game a bit. I hope its a good thing to be tidying up the flow...I do have a proof reader now and have been playing with an LLM model to help with punctuation (nothing else). Happy for feedback!
