Episode 39 just arrived: Antoun Issa (ex-Guardian senior editor) from Deepcut News explains why he walked away from Australian media rather than help camouflage a genocide, how our press is still run by a tiny Anglo-elite clique that treats journalists of colour as “liabilities”, why no mainstream outlet will touch the pro-Israel lobby’s chokehold on both major parties, and how independents like Deep Cut are now the only ones doing the real stories on weapons exports and Pine Gap.
Great chat. Seems like the independents road test policy and when it suits the Govt embraces it, indie journo's like your goodselves put out stories no-one else will touch and the MSM chimes in if and when it suits.
Both of you give such a good analysis of how mainstream media has failed us, absolutely everywhere. It's so sad, so obvious, so distressing, so detrimental to our future. But the rise of independent media is on the way: Deepcut and Bogan Intelligensia leading the way!!
By the way does anyone know the best way to send an email to editor of Guardian Australia to decry its failings?

Thanks Sally, it really is people like you that make it possible!
Love this casual, "Meetcha for a coffee" format.
