Chris Hedges is a wise man speaking the truth and what a rare experience that is right now. Why is this so? How did we get to this? (Just rhetorical questions, we know why). Shame on the NPC, backed by weapons manufacturers; and how much did the Zionist lobby have to do with this?

Thank you Joel and Dave for doing this interview with Chris Hedges. It was both inspiring and despairing, prodding us into keeping on going and standing up for Palestinians and all those oppressed by imperialism.

Chris Hedges isn’t so much a journalist but a prophet shunned by so-called polite society as it turns away from the simple truths of humanity.

Ive noticed other oddities occurring at NPC which are relevant. The speaker unashamedly spruiking the potential for AI data centres to be hosted in Australia, with the obvious questions "where will the water come from" and the even more obvious to me "would we get a UBI with these inevitable AI layoffs? " (If not then AI can fuck right off according to the First Dog on the Moon readership)

Are all of the NPC's sponsors publicly listed for transparency? Id like to know which techbros have their hooks in them, and to what degree.

Brilliant 💯💯 Thank you

Actually David Marr ( 🙄) just interviewed Chris on Late Night Live on ABC radio/ podcast just before Chris was to attend his Sydney gig.

I know I know who listens or reads the ABC these days. 🤮Gotta know your enemies

Chris beautifully put David 🤮in his stenographer place

Yes 👍 ✅☝️✅✅✅

David just might get a call from his minders very soon

There is little doubt that , had the NPC board had the smallest inkling of the demolition that Francesca Albanese would wreak upon the “journalists” in the room during her address , and brilliant answers to questions , she also would have had her invitation cancelled . As it was , neither the PM nor the FM could be bothered to meet with her , which says so much about both of them .

The fascist ideology is here and growing under the guise of "right wing" politics. Australia needs to be awake to this threat and not rely totally on its institutions protecting (eg our voting system). as per Justin Wolfers (https://www.abc.net.au/listen/programs/boyerlectures). Look at how the institutions have been attacked and unbelievably easily destroyed in the USA.

Meanwhile the ALP continues to move ever rightwards past the center, wasting an unbelievable dominant position to make nation building reforms.

Correct indeed , about Labor’s move to the Right under Albanese , who seems to imagine that doing as little as possible in government in case he might offend his donors is a way to endear himself to the voting public . An abandonment of the leadership we need at this time , and an abandonment of the Public Interest .

An excellent report, and interview. Chris Hedges is a beacon in the darkness and his work has featured in China Heritage for years: https://chinaheritage.net/journal/death-wish-promises-made-promises-kept/

This might show how the legacy media isn't actually relevant anymore. It's been years since I've watched the press club but mere days since I've watched a YouTube video of Chris Hedges. An iPhone is as good (and easier to troubleshoot ) as a Sony TV camera for broadcasting on the web. TV people are a bunch of guys who are quietly wishing it's still 1991 and everybody watches the news instead of the 5 people watching the big TV in a hospital waiting room while they wait to be called for their colostomy.

For the Press Club to cancel Chris Hedges and replace him with Defense contractors is like a Gourmet club cancelling Jacques Pepin and replacing him with Ronald McDonald. This should come back to bite them in the ass.

Maybe Mr. Hedges can spend the extra time with Julian Assange, whom he so consistently, and courageously, supported. If so, send regards from all in America who are grateful to him for his courage and truth.

Pity the article didn’t contextualise the NPC reasoning after it was made aware of Chris Hedges comments regarding HAMAS at the nurses union presentation.
